Galbiati Group specializes in machining components for machine tools.
A constantly state-of-the art machine shop combined with a team of experienced personnel allow us to machine components, such as:
- Machine beds
- Uprights
- Spindle head bodies
- Pallets
The machining needed for components of machine tools must be highly accurate and have very high quality standards. Galbiati Group can guarantee and certify its parts using a Zeiss dimensional inspection and measuring center.

In addition to machining, Galbiati Group can assist customers during the assembly phase.
This is performed with our operational flexibility and ability to rapidly respond to our customers’requests.
Galbiati Group can meet the requirements of the leading companies in the pump housing industry for oil, gas, air and water.
Our close cooperation with leading manufacturers of pump bodies has also allowed us to acquire significant experience processing special, difficult-to-machine materials such as stainless steel and other high alloy steels, such as Inconel, Duplex, Superduplex, and Hastelloy.

Boring, drilling, and milling of axial pump station for pumping oil.
Galbiati Group works alongside leading manufacturers for the supply of components for pump stations for oil, gas, air and water industries.
As far as the production of pump housings is concerned, the Galbiati’s Mechanical Machining Division has recently completed the machining of a subsea pump housing for the oil industry, consisting of a motor casing and a pump casing.
The pump housing was manufactured from high alloy steel castings, previously rough machined and with standard allowance material.
Details of the motor casing machining are given below.

The pump housing was then fully machined on a 7-axis controlled boring machine with a 65t capacity rototranslating table and equipped with a controlled d’Andrea head to perform turning operations.

The d’Andrea head (U TRONIC) used during the machining of the pump housing is a NC head that can perform diameters of up to 1,800mm, for external and internal facing operations and undercuts, internal or external conical and cylindrical boring and milling operations as well as complex profile machining via interpolation with the other machine axes.
Components were entirely processed through a dual cycle with intermediate tests carried on a Zeiss 3D coordinate measuring machine to check for the presence of any distortions, given the high malleability of the material. The dimensional test was carried out on ND (PT) control by qualified staff of the Galbiati company.
Details of the pump housing during the dimensional testing phase are given below.

The final test, which took place in the customers’ presence, was carried out using Zeiss 3D measuring machine to guarantee the quality and high precision, to the customer’s total satisfaction.
Galbiati Group performs high-precision machining and supply of the primary components for wind generators: frame, blade hub, rotor and stator.
Each machined part undergoes stringent testing and dimensional inspection (Zeiss three dimensional measuring machine for large parts, up to 6 m) which guarantee and certify their quality and very high precision.
