Siemens VAI awards the excellence of its suppliers

Strict compliance to quality and delivery times, evaluation of prices and of the sourcing overall value: these are the terms deserving for Galbiati Group the award as best Siemens Vai supplier for the biennium 2010-2011.

Within the SIEMENS group, Siemens VAI Metals Technologies (with its companies located in Austria, France, United Kingdom, Italy, United States and with branch offices in all countries of the industrialized world, including India, China, Korea, Russia, Turkey, Arabic Countries, Brazil and South America, etc.) deals with the supply, “turnkey”, of systems for the production and processing of steel and aluminium in the form of long products (bars, profiles, rods, etc..) and of wide products (plates sheets, coils, etc..).

SIEMENS VAI MT acts as “Main contractor” on a global scale offering to the producers of ferrous and non ferrous metals, the most modern technologies aimed at improving the quality of final products, at the maximum automation of the production cycle, at the preservation of the environment by reducing emissions of CO2 and of other polluting solids, liquids and gaseous.

It counts on the cooperation of thousands of suppliers of various kinds; from small companies to multinational groups with distributors around the world, located in Italy, Europe, India, China.

Since the beginning of the year Siemens VAI MT has started an internal procedure for evaluating the performance of all such subcontractors, with the aim of drawing up a list of those, among others, who better show to meet the expectations of Siemens VAI MT along time in terms of “compliance with the performances requirements, of their products and/or services” and this program was called “Supplier Stars Certification Program”.

All suppliers of Siemens VAI MT are organized in three main categories according to criteria of “Quality of the product and/or Service”, “Innovation”, “global competitiveness”; within each single categories, as per further stages of evaluation Siemens VAI MT finally selected 5 suppliers for each category .  . .  the best ones ! Partners with whom Siemens VAI MT has found the best competitive partnership and with whom it intends to continue this mutually beneficial partnership for growth, to compete successfully in the global market.

The motto of the whole program was “MILLION STARS SHINE IN THE SKY, BUT ONLY A FEW AMONG THEM ARE MORE BRILLIANT THAN OTHER”; to celebrate the best ones, the brightest among the thousands of stars, a better location than the Planetarium of Vienna  ( Siemens Vai 2011 Supplier Stars Ceremony ), could not have been chosen ; the event took place on October 28th 2011.

Galbiati Group, invited to attend the ceremony, has been elected and certified the best of the 5 best companies in the category “Global Competitiveness”   getting the best compliments, from the highest hierarchical authorities of Siemens VAI MT for the fulfilment,  extraordinarily effective, in the field of products with global competitiveness.

It is the first time that Siemens VAI MT releases such recognition to its top three suppliers, selected from among more than 6000 that currently collaborate with Siemens VAI MT . Two Austrian and one Italian companies, Galbiati Group.

“In the future the prize will be awarded every two years”, promised the Ceo Werner Auer.

“With this award we want to strengthen mutual trust and strategic partnership with our suppliers, so as to provide the best and most advanced solutions to our customers, ” Auer specified during the celebration night, “Because with quality, innovation and our engineering competitiveness in the world can seize the opportunities offered in the global market ”

In the category “quality“  the award was assigned to “Maschinenfabrik Ges. mbH MFL Liezen “, a foundry located in Styria, a producer of quality steel castings used by Siemens MT for the the creation of wear components for the steel mills.

In the category “innovation” the other Austrian company   “Dorninger Hytronics Gmbh” was awarded; manufacturer of hydraulic solutions and mechatronic components that which as been working for a period with  Siemens VAI MT for the optimization of automation in the casting facilities and in many other applications.

In the category “Global Competitiveness” Galbiati Group Srl was nominated “Supplier Star” for the demonstrated ability in working with Siemens VAI MT, for the design and construction of power transmission parts for rolling mills and casting plants;  Auer also highlighted as Galbiati Group Srl well-established a good cooperation with Siemens VAI MT “ providing operational flexibility and high quality, all combined with speed and accuracy in delivery, key features that make  Galbiati  as the best provider for Siemens Vai of components for metallurgic plants. ”

The cooperation between Siemens VAI MT and Galbiati Group, started around 10 ten years ago, grew up along time also thanks to the  empowered exchanges of know-how and competences  in order to optimize technical solutions, always with a fast feedback and a direct and interactive communication.
