Galbiati Group recently implemented, with consequent on site assembly, main drive gears couple addressed to the cement industry.

Technical data:

Gear wheels: outer diameter 1530 mm – band 200 mm – form 10/ Z 141 –Weight 1,300 Kg, in a structure composed by an external 4CrNiMo6 steel ring  awkward to high resistance and reclaimed.

Bi-helical Pinion: form 10/ Z 26 – Weight 760 Kg – band 220 mm, in steel 50CrMo4 awkward to high resistance and reclaimed.

Protection of  processed parts with Tectyl anti-rust, packaging for maritime shipment to eastern customer of the two  gear wheels and the relevant pinion.

Galbiati Group manufactures girth gears for mills and kilns from 4 m to 8 m diameter, made from a forged rim on welded steel structure.

Gear set with 4800 mm/800 mm diameters for a cement mill drive installed at “Industria Cementi Giovanni Rossi S.p.A.”(PC).

Through hardened NiCrMo alloy steel girth gear (260 HBn hardness) module 32 – 148 teeth – facewidth 420 mm, “pre-heating process” electrowelded on fabricated frame.

Pinion module 32 – 23 teeth – facewidth 450 mm, through hardened alloy steel (330 HBn hardness).

Galbiati Group designs and manufactures main and auxiliary gear drives for mills and kilns with rigid electrowelded housings; carburized and quality DIN 6 profile ground teeth; high quality roller type bearings sized  for at least 100.000 hours full-load service; splash or forced-feed  lubrication. Full speed – reduced load test  checks that the temperatures, vibrations, noise level, pressure and oil flow rates meet the design values.

Girth gear for ball mill, 30 m, z 162 and z 20  pinions, made with NiCrMo toothed rim on electrowelded steel frame. Welds are performed by a special controlled preheating and cooling process due to the different carbon contents and different thermal expansion of the materials welded together. Magnetic particle and ultrasonic inspections are performed to confirm the welding  full penetration and to detect any possible surface micro-cracks.

    The Galbiati case is still school: following the event of the last July 8th 2011 2011 it was now the venue for the 21 Assiot affiliates whose Galbiati case history was presented, in cooperation with Staufen, on Friday October 28th 2011. Optimization of production and lean production were the issues covered during the event, both on a theoretical and academic point of view thanks to the great presentation of Dott.   • Integrated gear reducer-pinion stand unit for special alloys

    Galbiati Group designed and manufactured a complete integrated pinion stand mill drive for special alloys milling (silica, tungsten, vanadium, etc.) for an Austrian customer. The plant consists of a reversible mill stand driven by an integrated pinion stand mill drive, equipped with two pinions meshing together on  a center distance just less than 1 m and running at 50 rpm. Input shaft is connected by a toothed coupling to two motors in series, with a total power of 2.400 kW at 195 rpm. This provides  a transmissible  torque of approximately 460.000 Nm with a suitable service factor, or a nominal torque that greatly exceeds 1.000.000 Nm.
