We realize successfully customized Cut-to-Length Lines optimizing the quality and the productivity with a great respect for all safety regulations towards the operators, the quality of work, paying great attention to the simplification of the maintenance activity.

To uncoil metal coils, to level the steel strip, to cross cut it to produce sheets and to stack them in bundles ready for the customers and for the following workings: this is the right functional sequence of cut-to-length lines.

Each Cut-to-length lines has proper layout according to the inserted additional functions that depend on the different properties of processed material (carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, high strength steel) and on its thickness.

Insertion of Paper or Plastic film, Brushing, Trimming and Scrap balling are examples of complementary activities.

We produce  successfully customized Cut-to-length lines optimizing the quality and the productivity with a great respect for all safety regulations towards the operators, the quality of work, paying great attention to the simplification of the maintenance activity.

Cut-to-length lines are designed to work Thin, Middle and Heavy gauges and the Blanking.

Processed materials are Hot rolled steel, Cold rolled steel, Dead soft steel, Galvanized  steel and aluminum.

Thickness varies from 0.3 up to 25 mm, width from 150 up to 2500 mm, length from 400 up to 18000 mm and speed from 30 up to 120 m/min.

To meet the requirements of the Service Centers to change the positions of the cut-to length lines inside their own plants, or transfer them quickly from a building to another, without the execution of civil works, we  design and manufacture plants in accordance to the “movable” concept.

Benefits of this innovation are for the Cut-to-Length Lines. In fact, not like the slitting lines, Cut-to-Length Line structures are not requiring any compensation pit.

Sole recommendation on the installation is to have industrial floor 250 mm thick with double-mesh net.

Mechanically, cut-to-length movable lines are composed by modules that can be assembled, disassembled and re-assembled in a short time, a concept that we also apply to the quick connection system plant engineer part.

A reduced size compared to a conventional Cut-to-length line does not affect the performance concerning the cutting activity, in fact, cut-to-length movable lines are able to process up to 30 tonnes coils, running at the maximum speed of 60 m/min processing the thickness range 0,3 ÷ 10/12 mm.

Below some examples of cut-to-length movable lines we realized.

Slitting Lines

Slitting Lines are designed to process coils of different materials such as carbon steel, hot rolled and cold rolled steel. Our slitting lines work also very high-grade quality surface materials like aluminium, copper and brass, their construction requires particular attention.
The design and the manufacture of slitting lines meet high standard of quality according to the market demand: ergonomics, operator safety and working quality, peak productivity, ease of operation and maintenance practicality.
The different type of Slitting lines manufactured are:

  • Light gauge - to process thickness range from 0,20 mm to 3 mm;
  • Medium gauge – to process thicknesses up to 8 mm max;
  • Heavy gauge - to process thicknesses up to 16 mm; this kind of line requires very rigid and compact structures as well as the guarantee of the best safety for the operator and the maximum ease of operation.

Several functions can be added into Slitting lines to increase the productivity:

  • Automatic change of slitting tools using Two or Four arms turnstiles or two rotary shears; this solution is used when the customer requires a cut with no burr and an extremely precise slitting tooling set up.
  • Scrap recoiling in ballers paying particular attention to safety in accomplishing the requested activities. Scrap cut into pieces of different lengths according to the diameter of the coils and to the number of blades placed on them.
  • Braking carriage with strips tension systems to guarantee their compact recoiling on the recoiling mandrel: to reach this aim different configurations are suggested according to the surface quality of the strip, with or without dragging.
  • Recoiling of the strips on recoilers’ mandrels and unloading by means of carriages with pressure arms to keep compact the strips, besides a set of semi automatic and/or automatic strapping devices out of lines to pack the strips in order to complete quickly the whole working process being careful to operators safety.

Tension Levelling System

The innovative tension levelling system was planned by us mainly for the stainless steel processing; afterwards it was applied also to aluminum strips, cold-rolled steel, pickled steel, galvanized steel and pre painted steel.

The tension levelling system process helps the strips leveling keeping its tension during the working phase before and after the leveling machine.

Thanks to its sophisticated software and several possible settings, many strips judged not good to be leveled have been processed successfully. The installed power guarantees the right elastic plastic properties of the material.

The tension levelling system allows the achievement of a high leveling quality, stabilized stress relieved material adapting sheets to several workings, to laser cutting, to punching machines, to automatic machines, etc. Moreover the tension levelling system enables to get excellent results with the requalification of strips with above average rolling defects.

Compared to a conventional system, with the tension levelling system some economic benefits are evident:

  • the range of processed thicknesses increases (for example 0.4 to 4 mm) using one single leveler.
  • only one leveler instead of two or one leveler with double cassette;
  • less power (less vertical load on the leveler with consequent energy saving during the plant running);
  • reduced maintenance costs (one single leveler having rolls with a larger diameter and less
  • applied vertical load requires less frequent maintenance);
  • reduced costs for spare parts;
  • rise in productivity due to the less frequent stops of the machines necessary to choose and replace the leveling cassette proper for the programmed working of the strips;
  • upgrade of the second-best strips;
  • the strip keeps its tension up to 1,3 m from the leveller, practically the strip tail and the strip centre are leveled in the same way;
  • ease of utilization of this system.

It is very important to underline that the tension levelling system can be used also with the traditional system: the open bridles.

Up to now the tension levelling method has been working for years and it is present in many stainless steel service centers for carbon steel.

Considering our wide range of lines, we are able to manufacture coil process lines: loading and uncoiling sections together with feeding and recoiling sections for pickling lines that are completely integrated and coordinated with the process.

  1. Coil Packing Lines = these kind of lines are designed complementary to the slitting lines in order to obtain the peak productivity according to the available spaces and to the requested automation levels considering all customers’ needs.
  2. Coil Feeding Lines for presses = we provide Household applications and Car industries with single machines or coil feeding lines integrated and coordinated with presses even if produced by other suppliers.
  3. Coil finishing Lines = These are additional machines inserted into cut-to-length lines to remove calamine from the surface of hot rolled steel strips. .
